Refrain: Never Mind

Never mind the fracture lines
The cobweb heart, the steely rope
Of wires crossed, of losing hope
Of seeing shadows in the day
We’re here and gone, we all decay

And blinding white, the pale refine
Of seeming to exist, and not
Within-without the trail of moss
To some old oak, in which we climb
To sleep away the dust of time

And sleep we will, when all has passed
When love, a splinter in my side
Is torn from flesh and soul and bone
And in this whiteout state we find
The numbness we all know as home.
